Nemanja Vidic Profile |
“In an average living room, there are 7,346 objects Nemanja Vidic can use to kill you including the room itself…”
The quote has been floating around on the Internet football forums. The quote that really describes how scary Nemanja Vidic can be when he is guarding his domain in the defence… Vidic is a rock, a monster defender any coach would wanna have in their team, a player who does his talking on the pitch, and is highly respected by his foes especially forwards and attacking midfielders. Arriving at 2006 from Spartak Moskow, Vidic was an unknown player for the English media and football fan. His only repertoire was that he was one of “The Magnificent Four”, a named given to the Yugoslavian squad four man defence who managed to conced only 1 goal in their ten games during the 2006 World Cup Qualification. And with his lacking of English, it was hard to Vidic to gain popularity among the British press. Nevertheless, tough he hardly speaks (nor smiles), Vidic manage to make the fan fell in love with him for his hard work on the pitch. Within a short period of time, Vidic was one of Old Trafford’s regulars most beloved player. The fan loves the way he shows his uncompromising defensive style, contrary to his hard style defense, Vidic has never seriously injured any player.
And when United have a corner, Vidic is one of the most dangerous man in the opposition penalty box. When Vidic charges, everybody ducks, including his team-mates. With his size, Vidic even adds more pain to the opposition with his highly well-timed vertical jump. Vidic’s header is one of the most feared header in the EPL, if not in the world. Along with all that attributes, Vidic completes it with a show of bravery and work ethic in every match that he played. On a match, Vidic broke his collar bone, but he insisted that he wanted to continue. In one of the most famous Vidic’s performance is when he still chases the ball, even after he busted his head wide open during an air ball collision. His crimson red bloodied face was so scary, it took the nerve out of the opposition striker that he chased… In a short period of time, Vidic has transformed himself from an unknown guy from Belgrade into Old Trafford’s cult hero. The fans love and cherish Vidic, the oppositions fear him and Manchester United has one God damn hard-ass jewel in their team…
